Old Propane Cylinders and Tanks

Propane is a flammable material. Tanks containing propane should be properly recycled. Please see below for proper methods to manage waste propane tanks.

Single-Use Propane Cylinder

  1. See if your local household hazardous waste (HHW) collection program will accept single-use propane cylinders. To view a list of HHW collections in PA, please go to Household Hazardous Waste Collection Programs
  2. Look in your local yellow pages under “gas-propane” or a similar heading. Call them and see if they will accept the single-use cylinders for recycling.

Refillable Grill Tank

  1. See if your local household hazardous waste (HHW) collection program will accept refillable grill tanks. To view a list of HHW collections in PA, please go to Household Hazardous Waste Collection Programs
  2. Look in your local yellow pages under “gas-propane” or a similar heading. Call them and see if they will accept refillable grill tanks for recycling.
