Air Quality Regulations

The Air Quality Program regulates more than 70,000 inspection points such as pollution control devices, boilers, fuels and paints at 3,650 facilites that produce air pollution in Pennsylvania.

• Environmental Quality Board
  The EQB is a 20-member independent board that adopts all of DEP's regulations. It is chaired by the Secretary of DEP.

• Independent Regulatory Review Commission
  Reviews regulations promulgated by Commonwealth agencies, to produce the best, most effective and least intrusive regulations possible.

• Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee
  Advises the DEP on the technical and economic or other social impacts of existing, new, or proposed revisions to pollution control regulations, policies, and new control techniques or technologies affecting air.
