Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP) Home Energy Loan
The Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP) Home Energy Loan is the Energy Accelerator Program’s first financing program. Developed to help Pennsylvania homeowners afford energy efficiency upgrades and reduce energy costs, KEEP Home Energy Loans can be used for a variety of eligible projects performed by pre-approved, qualified contractors. Qualifying projects can include upgrades for heating, cooling, water heating, EV charging, smart home energy management systems, insulation, and certain energy-related improvements to home envelope. A full list can be found on the website provided below. Loan amounts can range from $2,500 to $25,000 (subject to a credit check) and will offer below-market interest rates with repayment periods ranging from 36 to 120 months.
As a residential program, owners of single family and multi-unit residential buildings of up to four units in Pennsylvania can apply, though the property must be owner-occupied (primary or secondary home) and affixed to a permanent foundation.
KEEP is administered by the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF), a Pennsylvania-based firm, under contract with PEDA. For a complete list of eligible projects, approved contractors, and application details, please go to NEIF’s website.
