Program Updates

• May 28, 2024 – New Revision application: A new application form for minor and major permit revisions is now available. Please use for all revisions to mining permits.
• May 21, 2024 - New Transfer application: A revised application for transfer is posted. This application is now under “Permit” documents in elibrary and not “Forms”. The options now include a transfer of small noncoal.
• May 20, 2024 - Recission of Renewal TGD: 563-2100-216 Coal Mining Activity Permit Renewals has be rescinded. The new application form contains necessary relevant information for the permittee.
• May 11, 2024 - Bond rate guidelines for water supplies: The updated Rates to be Used for Calculating Long-Term Operation and Maintenance Cost Bonds for Water Supply Replacement—Mining Operations were published on 11 May 2024 in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
• April 1, 2024 - New bond rate guidelines for coal and noncoal mining operations are in effect. The rates have been published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin for Coal and Noncoal.
• February 12, 2024 – The Bureaus of Mining Programs and District Mining Operations are now accepting digital uploads of most forms and notifications via the Public Upload with Payment option. You do not need an account to send information and fees for permits and licenses. Secure application and monitoring submittals using Greenport is still encouraged where possible.
