Sewage Management Programs (SMP)
Sewage management programs are regulatory programs enacted by municipalities for assuring the operation and maintenance needs, and thereby the long-term performance, of onlot sewage disposal systems and other sewage facilities.
Chapter 71 (pertaining to Administration of the Sewage Facilities Planning Program),
Section 71.71 requires municipalities to establish sewage management programs as part of their official plans, or through revisions to their official plans as a method of assuring the proper operation and maintenance of sewage facilities.
